Join the Colorado Springs Down Syndrome Association as we unite for a common cause and raise funds at the 2020 Colorado Springs DSA Down Syndrome Virtual Walk. Instead of walking with us at the event venue, you’ll be walking with family and friends in your own neighborhood, local park, trail or wherever you choose on Saturday, August 15th!

Virtual Walk FAQ's

How will the virtual walk work and what do teams do on August 15? 

The CSDSA DS Walk Committee has been working hard the past few months to develop a fun

and safe way for teams to participate in our virtual event on August 15. We still want to raise

awareness in our community, and we think our teams will do a great job with this! Here is a

tentative schedule for the morning of August 15. We will continue to update you as we get

closer.

● 9am Virtual meet and great on Zoom!

● 9:15am Emcee extraordinaire, Tim Glenn, will kick-off our virtual event. Join us on

Zoom or Facebook live for inspiring stories, prizes, pre-walk warm-up and a very special

countdown to the start of our virtual walk

● 9:45am CSDSA DS Virtual Walk 2020

● After your team event, please share your photos and videos on social media

Do teams have to organize an actual event?

No, teams are not required to organize an in-person walk; it is up to each team to decide what is

safe for them and in their best interest.


Do you have some ideas for what teams could do for their walk? 

Sure! Team events could include walking around your neighborhood, laps around a local high

school track, a family walk in Garden of the Gods, or a stroll around Palmer park or Fox Run

park. Be creative! 


How will teams get t-shirts and will we get them in time to ship to our team members out of

state? 

We will have three different dates and locations for teams/participants to pick up their shirts.

CSDSA will NOT be mailing any shirts, but we have allowed plenty of time for team captains to

pick up shirts and get them sent. The dates for picking up shirts are:

● August 1, 9-11am, ANB Bank Building parking lot 15 W Cimarron 80903

● August 5, 5-7pm, UCHealth Park parking lot, 4385 Tutt Blvd 80922

● August 12, 5-7pm, Sam’s Club parking lot, 4385 Venetucci Blvd 80906


How do people get a t-shirt if they join our team after the t-shirt cut-off date? 

We will NOT order extra shirts this year, so if anyone registers for your team after July 22 they

will not get a t-shirt. Please encourage all your friends and family to join before July 22!


Will there be prizes this year?

YES, we love prizes! We have changed things up a bit this year and have added Weekly Team

Challenges. Be sure to check your email and our Facebook page each week to join in the fun. We

will also be awarding prizes on August 15 to our top three fundraising teams, our team with the

most registered walkers, most creative walk idea, and the best yard display or start/finish line and

of course, “door” prizes.
